(GTRI) announced today that it has fulfilled all Cisco Authorized Technology Provider program requirements and criteria necessary to earn the designation of IP Interoperability and Collaboration Systems Partner in the USA. This designation by Cisco ensures that GTRI is qualified and authorized to independently sell, design, install, and support the IPICS technology for customers within existing communications structures.

The IPICS technology allows for easy integration of analog and digital radio systems with other media for data, voice and video communication. The goal of this IP solution is to improve communications over hard-wired and wireless networks, such as those used by aid workers or special operations units dealing with accidents or emergency situations. It is particularly beneficial in safety and emergency management, allowing for quicker decision making and faster action because the need to manually connect various communications channels is omitted by using standard Internet Protocol as a common basis.
