A team from GTRI recently attended the Technology Career Fair held by the University of Colorado at Boulder (CU Boulder). This uniquely positioned event catered to students with a technology-focused degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or research. Students came to find the right fit for internships, entry-level positions, and even experienced professional career opportunities.

GTRI was excited to participate in CU Boulder’s Technology Career Fair.

GTRI’s table remained busy throughout the day. We had more than 40 interested students and graduates whom we interviewed and accepted resumes from. One area of focus that we heard a lot from was the Interdisciplinary Telecommunications Program, which is a Master’s level degree. There are so many brilliant and qualified candidates in this exceptional pool of students.

As we were extremely impressed with the vast experience levels of the applicants from the event, we have created a new Rotational Internship program. The goal of the program is to expose students to the many areas of GTRI’s Professional Services teams – including Big Data, Engineering, and IT – while utilizing the interns’ skills to focus on meaningful projects that can be added to their resume of work. GTRI has a long-standing commitment to the community, and the internship program will be a win-win for students and GTRI alike.

Additionally, CU Boulder has asked us to return to campus this spring to speak with students and soon-to-be graduates about how to prepare for the transition into the technology industry.  This includes what to expect when writing resumes, interviewing, networking, and how to stand out in a pool of qualified applicants. We’re excited to continue to partner with CU Boulder, and invest in GTRI to become an Employer of Choice.

You can apply for GTRI’s Rotational Internship program online.
