Denver, Colo. – February 18, 2009 – Global Technology Resources, Inc. (GTRI) recently participated on an open panel of experts in Cisco’s Public Sector Technology Forum surrounding business transformation and next-generation collaboration in Washington, D.C. The event hosted customers within the US Government and partners for an immersive two-day event designed to help public sector agencies achieve new levels of mission success by using technology to improve efficiency, productivity, and return on investment.
“I was honored to participate with great minds such as Linda Cureton, CIO for NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center, and Dan Mintz, previous CIO for the Department of Transportation. GTRI’s engineering and solutions teams consistently support and advise its Government clientele on emerging technology trends and their applicable use within an agencies day-to-day mission. Our mission statement speaks to the heart of this support, …we measure our success by our customers’ ultimate success,” said Jim Raine, GTRI’s Director of Federal Business Development.
Topics included IPv6, Cloud Computing, Green and Energy Efficiency, and Social Networking/Web 2.0. Specific Federal Government highlights included; the D.C. City Government’s use of cloud computing (Google); how social networking is changing the way government services are being delivered to the people; the impending stimulus package and its effect on energy efficiency and how high-tech/networking can help; surveillance and smart buildings; and NASA’s adoption of social networking avenues for information dissemination.
Raine manages the solutions engagements for GTRI, facilitates the company channel program, and manages the technical responses supporting the Capture Management division. Previously, Raine managed the delivery division of GTRI, supported numerous Government programs as a member of the Cisco Federal team, and served in the United States Air Force.
