Denver, Colo. – June 13, 2008 – Global Technology Resources, Inc. (GTRI) has experienced another year of outstanding growth. For the past nine years, Inc. and the Initiative for a Competitive Inner City (ICIC) have teamed up to recognize America’s fastest-growing urban businesses through the annual Inner City 100 list. In 2007 GTRI was named number 33 on the list, and has been named in the top 50 for the past 5 years.
GTRI’s revenue increase has been cited at 483 percent from 2001 to 2005 and a revenue growth of $43 million. The 2007 Inner City 100 boasts an average four-year revenue growth of 535 percent and record average revenue of $39 million. GTRI is within the nine percent of companies on the list with sales exceeding $100 million. GTRI started business in 1998 and was ineligible to apply for a nomination on the Inner City 100 until 2003 since the list requires a financial history of five years to participate.
The Initiative for a Competitive Inner City defines inner cities as core urban areas with higher unemployment and poverty rates and lower median incomes than surrounding metropolitan statistical areas. For the 2007 list, the ICIC solicited approximately 4,000 nominations. Nominated companies sent in brief applications and more than 300 were invited to complete a survey and submit financial documents for 2001, 2004, and 2005 (the last year for which complete data was available).
