For the third consecutive year, GTRI is pleased to sponsor the National Disabled Veterans Winter Sports Clinic (#WinterSportsClinic), occurring this week (April 3-8) in Snowmass, CO. This annual event offers participation and coaching in adaptive winter sports, as well as camaraderie, for U.S. military Veterans and active duty servicemen and women with disabilities.

Sponsored by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and the non-profit Disabled American Veterans, the Winter Sports Clinic is attended by hundreds of participants from around the country who learn or practice winter sports skills such as cross country and downhill skiing, snowboarding, and ice hockey. The activities give participants a sense of personal accomplishment, while the event provides an opportunity for them to connect with the military community again.

Here’s an inspirational video about the event from Disabled American Veterans.

In addition to sponsoring this event, myself and Mark Chamberlain from GTRI are volunteering. As part of the GTRI’s commitment to community service, the company encourages all employees to dedicate one day a year to volunteering for an organization of our choice.
