Having Fun with GTRI’s Community Service Program

Every year, GTRI employees get to have a lot of fun as part of our community service program. From go-kart racing to bike riding there is no doubt that we know how to have a good time. Whether it’s at Von Miller’s Celebrity Go-Kart Grand Prix, a Habitat for Humanity build site, or the annual Children’s Hospital Colorado Foundation Courage Classic, GTRI is involved.

With GTRI’s Volunteer Time Off (VTO) program, every GTRI employee gets to take any day of the year and dedicate their time to any non-profit organization. Habitat for Humanity has become an employee favorite, especially during the summer months. There are always GTRI team trips to Habitat for Humanity sites in the summer months and our partners, like Cisco, are never shy to lend a helping hand either.

The Denver Public School System currently has more than 27,000 low-income students who need some level of vision correction. Von’s Vision actively fights to remedy this problem every year by providing glasses for children in lower income housing. The money that is donated at Von Miller’s Celebrity Go-Kart Grand Prix (held for the first time on June 15) and other Von’s Vision events goes straight to helping these kids in the Denver community. GTRI’s race team and pit crew for the Go-Kart Grand Prix couldn’t have been more excited to help this great cause.

As a company, we have countless reasons to support the Children’s Hospital, from personal and family experiences to the passion for biking for a cause. Every summer the GTRI team raises thousands of dollars for The Children’s Hospital Foundation to help provide children the best care possible in the state of Colorado. The Courage Classic (July 18-20) is both a challenge and an opportunity for the GTRI bike team to support positive outcomes for kids and families who need Children’s Hospital Colorado.

While these events are fun, it’s important to remember what it is these organizations do and the impact they have in our immediate community. This year it is part of our company’s initiative to have fun inside and out of work and there couldn’t be a better way than volunteering at great events like these.
