GTRI’s Chief Technology Officer, Scott Hogg, will be a guest lecturer at a technical seminar on IPv6 at Cisco Live 2016, June 10-14 in Las Vegas. The seminar, “An Immersive Journey into IPv6,” will instruct attendees in IPv6 protocol basics, operational procedures, host operating system configurations, and more. Scott is presenting a two-hour module on Internet perimeter and access network security for IPv6 networks.
A 15-year veteran of architecting, deploying and securing Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6), Scott is well-known in the global technical community for his comprehensive understanding of the Internet transfer protocol that is replacing a decades-old standard, IPv4. In addition to numerous blog posts, whitepapers, presentations and webinars on IPv6, he is the author of Cisco’s IPv6 Security manual. He is also the Chair Emeritus of the Rocky Mountain IPv6 Task Force, and he leads GTRI’s IPv6 training program for clients.
Scott is a member of the IPv6 Center of Excellence (COE) for Infoblox. In May, he participated on a panel at Infoblox Bloxfest in Boston. The “IPv6 in the Enterprise” panel included Tom Coffeen, chief IPv6 evangelist at Infoblox, and Ed Horley, IPv6 practice lead for Groupware. The panel discussed effective enterprise IPv6 adoption strategies.
