Orlando, Fla. – March 23, 2010 – Global Technology Resources, Inc. (GTRI) launched its new suite of fully customizable applications for Unified Communications (UC) systems today at VoiceCon Orlando 2010 at the Gaylord Palms Convention Center (booth #1418).
The new product – called GlobalACE (Adaptive Communications Exchange) – provides users of Cisco UC systems with an innovative Web interface to help communicate instantly with staff members, document voice calls with the push of a button and more. Features of the GlobalACE suite include conferencing, paging, intercom, push-to-talk, texting and alerting, and call recording – all applications often not provided natively with Unified Communications. Extension mobility is also simplified, allowing users to log into their phone via a browser with just their pin code and extension.
“We created GlobalACE to both enhance and simplify Unified Communications for our customers,” says Thomas Maier, GTRI’s Director of Unified Communications. “We believe these new applications represent a significant step forward for the UC market.”
Exempla Healthcare in Denver, Colo., has been piloting the GlobalACE applications with its UC system since September 2009.
“Communication in health care environments affects everything from sharing information among caregivers to improving patient care,” explains Kevin Maynard, Telecommunications Manager at Exempla. “GlobalACE has allowed us to reduce our overhead paging yet still communicate immediately with over 1,000 employees about important, timely information, such as hospital-wide disaster plans and IT system availability.
“We have found GlobalACE to be more reliable than other systems because it can integrate directly into Cisco Unified Communications Manager via CUAE (Cisco Unified Application Environment),” adds Maynard. “It is easy to manage and integrate, and it can easily adapt to our changing and growing needs. In fact, we will be adding another 500 licenses, spanning multiple locations, and adding new GlobalACE applications with our next deployment.”
In addition to leveraging the Cisco Unified Application Environment, GlobalACE is able to use its open interfaces and easy programming to integrate with other applications such as SAP, Lotus Sametime, PeopleSoft and various Draeger medical devices.
GTRI is demonstrating GlobalACE at its VoiceCon booth throughout the show (March 22-25), as well as walking visitors through a case study of the product’s utility in health care settings.
