This coming weekend (July 23 and 24) I will be participating in the Courage Classic organized by Children’s Hospital of Colorado. This will be the eighth year I have ridden in this fundraiser and the seventh year that GTRI has sponsored a team in the event.

Over the past seven years this event has taken on a much greater significance for me on a personal level as I have watched Children’s Hospital have a tremendous impact on the lives of my friends and coworkers. While I write this post tonight I have a friend who is sitting at the hospital with his newborn.

Without Children’s Hospital his son wouldn’t have been able to survive, much less be looking at a chance to go home healthy in the near future. Seeing the look on my friend’s face as his son has improved over the last few months reminds me just how much of an impact the money we raise through this event can have on people’s lives.

This year will also mark the third time that my wife has joined me in the fundraising and riding for the event. Having my wife along over the course of the ride has been great and something we look forward to every year now. While we’ve spent the last few months focusing on raising donations for the hospital, the weekend is also a great time. Team GTRI has grown steadily over the last several years and having the weekend to connect with my wife, our friends, and my coworkers in the beautiful Rocky Mountains of Colorado is also a great way to disconnect and reconnect.

GTRI has long been a supporter of Children’s Hospital. We are honored to be an Ascent Sponsor at this year’s Courage Classic. We also contributed to the Prologis team as a Bronze Sponsor.

If you’d like to donate to Team GTRI, we greatly appreciate your support.
