What’s E-Rate?

E-Rate is an annual funding program that helps K-12 schools and public libraries across the United States achieve digital readiness. E-Rate is the financial engine driving online learning, collaboration, and digital testing. Zivaro is here to help you harness these funds and build a robust, secure network.

Who Can Participate in the E-Rate Program?

Non-profit elementary and secondary schools and public libraries can participate in the E-Rate program. Schools must adhere to the No Child Left Behind Act of 2021, while libraries must comply with the 1996 Library Services and Technology Act.

Two Categories of E-Rate Eligible Services and Equipment

E-Rate funding is divided into two categories:

Category 1: Covers broadband services to connect you to the internet.
Category 2: Covers essential equipment like routers, switches, and wireless systems.

Maximize benefits up to 90% for Category 1 and up to 85% for Category 2.

How to Apply for E-Rate Funding

Plan early and continuously monitor your needs to ensure a successful application.

Initiate the Competitive Bid Process

Submit Form 470 to start bidding.

Wait for Bids

Observe the 28-day waiting period before reviewing bids.

Contract Signing

Sign contracts with selected vendors and submit Form 471.

Application Review

Respond promptly during the review phase.

Funding Decision

Review your funding decision and respond within 15 days.

Invoicing

Submit an invoice to USAC for reimbursement or vendor payment.
