Denver, Colo. – March 29, 2012 – Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) presented a prestigious ESGR Patriot Award to a key manager of Global Technology Resources Inc. (GTRI) at the company’s annual employee meeting on January 20th, 2012 in Denver, CO. Technical Sergeant Clinton Rupp, a member of the U.S. Air Force Reserves, 302nd Airlift Wing, and a GTRI employee, nominated his civilian supervisor, Robert Smith, for this coveted award and recognition.
An ESGR Patriot Award formally recognizes employers and their representatives who provide exceptional support to their employees who are members of the Reserve Components of the U.S. Military, employers who often go well beyond the support for Guard and Reserve member-employees as required by federal law.
As part of his nomination, TSGT Rupp wrote, “I am proud to recognize the outstanding support provided to me by my civilian supervisor, Mr. Robert Smith. Throughout my career at GTRI, I have been given truly outstanding support for my Air Force Reserve career in every way. My supervisor’s support has been an integral factor in my successful military career in several vital ways. For everything from short-notice taskings from my unit, to ensuring my pay and benefits remain throughout my absence from the office, the support my family and I have received has been tremendous. As a military veteran himself, Mr. Smith has gone out of his way to recognize veterans throughout our company, creating awareness of the sacrifices and dedication of our veterans, guard and reserve members.”
