It’s not every day that a GTRI team member gets to don a hard hat and spend the day wielding hammers and climbing ladders. Last week, Michelle Salazar and Amber Crawford enjoyed this unique opportunity when they spent a day volunteering with Habitat for Humanity. Despite some rain, Michelle, Amber and the other volunteers made some great progress building townhomes in Aurora, CO.

GTRI encourages all employees to take one day off per year to volunteer for an organization of their choosing. Along with Habitat for Humanity, GTRI volunteers have spent time helping Children’s Hospital Colorado, the Denver Rescue Mission and Von’s Vision, among other worthwhile organizations.

vto-vonsOn June 22, a team from GTRI will be participating in the second annual Von Miller Celebrity Go-Kart Grand Prix, which benefits Von’s Vision. GTRI is also a sponsor of this fun event where teams race with celebrity drivers from the Denver Broncos in a quest to take the checkered flag (see photos from last year’s event).

In July, more than a dozen GTRI employees will take part in the 2016 Courage Classic bike ride to benefit the Children’s Hospital Colorado Foundation. This is the seventh year GTRI team members have participated in the two-day bike tour through Colorado’s high country to raise money for the Foundation. GTRI is also an Ascent Sponsor at this year’s event.
